The Disaster Preparedness and Flood Prevention Bond Act of 2006 and the Water Quality, Safety and Supply, Flood Control, Natural Resources Protection, Park Improvements Bond of 2006 (Proposition 1E and 84), was approved by the voters on November 7, 2006 and this symposium last year focused on allocation of funding from these bonds for the betterment of California’s infrastructure. During the last year we have seen increasing actions by the legislature and agencies and litigation focused on the Delta and levees. Concern has also heightened regarding global warming and its effect on California’s water supply at the same time that we may be experiencing a period of drought both actual and as a result of court decisions. This symposium will provide you with important information on the current status of projects and what you can do to become involved.
